  • Dr. Lillian Gelberg was elected to the Association of American Physicians (AAP) for 2024 in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the advancement of translational biomedical research. Dr. Gelberg is a family physician, health services researcher, and professor in the department of family medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, the Fielding School of Public Health and the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Her research focuses on community-based research including health promotion intervention clinical trials to improve healthy lifestyles and prevent cancer, substance use disorders, obesity, and other chronic diseases. Her work with diverse, low-income patients and homeless populations, including Veterans and their families, is advancing the national agenda to end homelessness and to promote healthy lifestyle change via integration of prevention into primary care.
  • Telehealth (TH) & Telemedicine (TM) Special Interest Group (SIG) 07/12/2024 @ 8:30am PT/11:30am ET
    • Nancy Roget, MS, MFT, LADC, of PI for the Pacific Southwest Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional Center for Region 9 and the Co-Director for the Mountain Plains ATTC in Region 8, will present on hybrid service delivery for SUDs.

      She will (1) Provide an overview of substance use clinical services delivered via videoconferencing and telephone (2) Describe and give examples of hybrid service delivery that is based upon the needs of the client, clinician, and provider (3) Illustrate what clinicians and administrators need to consider when initiating hybrid delivery services, like reimbursement, privacy/security issues, staffing, and telephone policies and (4) Discuss training and technical assistance activities and products. For more information about the TH & TM SIG webinar on 07/12/2024 please see the flyer.
