CTN webinar: Adaptive research design for substance abuse clinical trials.
Adaptive research design can be a significant tool in developing effective multi-site clinical trials. There are a number of benefits to adjusting trial design for improved efficiencies and safety. This one-hour webinar, produced by the National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network (CTN) Clinical Coordinating Center for CTN members and the public, will identify utilization strategies of adaptive research design and factors for implementation.
Objectives for this webinar include:
- Explaining the characteristics of adaptive research design.
- Identifying the rationale of adaptive research design and the benefits of using it.
- Reviewing adaptive research design in the CTN.
Handouts:
- Introduction to Adaptive Interventions and SMART Study Design Principles – Daniel Almirall, Scott Compton, Susan Murphy. Presented at the 2011 CPDD conference.
- Adaptive Designs for Randomized Trials in Public Health – C. Hendricks Brown, Thomas Ten Have, et al. Annu Rev Public Health 2009;30:1-25.
