CTN-0015: Preliminary findings from the “Women and Trauma” study.

This presentation provides an overview of the research design, aims, and preliminary outcomes of National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network protocol CTN-0015 (“Women’s Treatment for Trauma and Substance Use Disorders.”).

This protocol is designed to compare the effectiveness of two types of treatment for women with PTSD and substance use disorders: “Seeking Safety,” a short-term, manualized treatment program designed specifically for co-occurring trauma/PTSD and substance use disorders, and “Women’s Health Education,” a psychoeducational program focused on health topics of special relevance for women. The presentation includes figures on enrollment and sample characteristics, describes the data analytic approach used for in-treatment outcome measurement, provides details on preliminary outcomes, and briefly compares other trauma/SUD-focused treatment research with the work being done in CTN-0015.
