News from the Appalachian Node

  • Sarah Kattakuzhy and Paul Joudrey will be presenting a workshop at AMERSA: “Should There Be a Price of Admission? People with Lived Experience as Partners in Addiction Research and Policy” (view abstract)
  • The Rural SIG, co-chaired by Erin Winstanley (Appalachian Node) and Amanda Bunting (NY Node), has published a commentary in the Special Issue of JSAT titled, “Guiding principles for clinical research on substance use in rural communities.”
  • The Appalachian Node will be facilitating a symposia at the College on the Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD)’s annual meeting entitled “How to Communicate Our Science to the Public” (June 15th 8-9:30am). We will highlight our development, use and evaluation of multimedia strategies to disseminate scientific findings.
