The New England Node joined the Clinical Trials Network in September 1999. Participating CTPs were selected on the basis of the size, breadth, and diversity of the populations they serve; volume and administrative efficiency, and commitment to evidence based treatments. The total number of unduplicated annual admission to substance use treatment was over 27,000. A wide array of treatment modalities was offered including: programs for HIV/HCV, treatment of adolescents, substance use and primary care, and psychiatric co-morbidity.
