Successful implementation and sustainment of interventions is heavily influence by context. Yet the complexity and dynamic nature of context make it challenging to connect and translate findings across implementation efforts, limiting potential replicability and utility. The Inventory of Factors Affecting Successful Implementation and Sustainment (IFASIS) was developed to be a pragmatic, quantitative, organizational-level assessment of contextual factors. The intention is to characterize context with a measure that may enhance replication and reproducibility of findings beyond single implementation case studies.  This talk from the CTN Translation and Implementation (T&I) SIG will provide an overview of the development and validation of the IFASIS, as well as examples of its practical utility. The NIH recently launched a $30 million Communities Advancing Research Equity (CARE) for Health Initiative, which funds primary care research network hubs to engage rural communities and practices in research. As part of the pilot, CTN-0139 (Co-Care) is engaging with two newly funded rural hubs to expand engagement and recruitment in small rural practices.  The January 27, 2025 Primary Care SIG meeting (12pm ET, 9am PT) will feature a panel to discuss how CARE for Health synergistically can enhance and contribute to CTN trials. She is Past President of the Society for Research on Adolescence and current President of The International Consortium of Developmental Science Societies. McBride Murry is one of the 100 elected members to the 2020 Class of the National Academic of Medicine.  She is an appointed standing member of National Institutes of Health National Advisory Mental Health Research Council. The CTN Youth SIG is pleased to invite you to an upcoming presentation/webinar: Falling Through the Cracks: The Struggle of Adolescents with Opioid Use Disorder in the Face of Limited Treatment Options Friday, September 20th, 2024 (11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET) Presenter: Sivabalaji Kaliamurthy MDAssistant Professor of Psychiatry, Howard UniversityDirector, Addiction Program at Children’s National, Washington, DC Dr. Kaliamurthy, a physician specialized in pediatric addictions, is board-certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine. He was pivotal in establishing the Addiction Clinic at Children’s National to treat children with psychiatric and substance use disorders. Dr. Kaliamurthy’s current research centers on evaluating the clinical outcomes associated with the use of medications for opioid use disorder in adolescents. In this presentation, Dr. Kaliamurthy will examine a case involving an adolescent who sought treatment within a pediatric health care system for fentanyl use. The focus will be on the challenges identified in delivering care to adolescents with opioid use disorder. He will also highlight barriers to treatment that must be overcome to deliver the minimum necessary care to ensure engagement in medication treatment for opioid use disorder and reducing overdose risk.
